The Healthy Start Coalition of Sarasota invites you to join us! Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of pregnant women, infants, and young children. The goal of our work is to prevent or reduce fetal and infant mortality, prematurity, and low birth weight, and to maximize the health and development of infants and children up to age three. We welcome members from the community, other agencies, health care providers, and current or former Healthy Start clients to help us achieve our mission.
It is an exciting year for us with the opening of the Pregnancy Resource Center, a place where pregnant women and new moms can stop by to receive educational and resource information and get help navigating the pregnancy Medicaid and prenatal care systems. We have also started the Volunteer League to help us with staffing the Resource Center, help represent us at health fairs, or pitch in around the office. We are also stepping up our fundraising efforts and have just launched a new website. And last but not least, we are developing our Service Delivery Plan for 2010-2015.
Don’t you want to join us for an exciting year? Our business meetings are held only once each quarter in March, June, September, and December. You’ll find them a great place to network with others who share your desire to help. And together we can accomplish astonishing goals!
If you are a current member, please fill in the renewal section of the appropriate form.
If you will be a new member, choose one of two categories in which to join: individual or agency.
• If you are a single entity, you will hold an individual voting membership.
• If you work for an organization or agency, you will be either a voting member or a non-voting member. If you are the first person of your agency to join the Coalition, you will be a voting member. If your agency already has a voting member on the Coalition, you will be a non-voting member. Choose the appropriate form.
Please turn in the membership forms by fax or mail. Please note that new voting members representing an agency will have to mail in the original, signed, notarized form.
