“Save My Life” Classes

Save My Life Classes help African-American pregnant women and babies to be healthy.  Sometimes African-American babies are born too early or too small, which increases their risk for health problems and possibly death.

These free classes and ongoing support for pregnant women and new breastfeeding moms are led by an African-American teacher. There are also classes for African-American women of childbearing age learn more about the importance of health during their childbearing years.

Classes are held at different locations, sometimes in a group or one-to-one.  Topics include childbirth education, breastfeeding education and breastfeeding help once the baby is born.

There are also classes available on how to quit smoking, eating right, the benefits of pregnancy exercise, family planning and more.
